E.G.
Ok, so whilst one screen was pretty cool... why not have more?
So.. I wanted to have one touchscreen in the centre console and one screen behind the dash (as seen in the pic).
But I wanted to keep my headunit, my climate controls where they were and my air vents. In addition the entire setup must look TOTALLY factory.
Easy peasy... ?!
First things first, I sourced a spare head unit bracket thingy and cut it up yo. Then I bought an audi a4 single din adaptor (it was a good size as a basis for working on a head unit cage). And then I hacked up my brand new Lilliput 7" !
Next came the sticky fibreglass stuff, good fun to work with, you can get this at Halfords. Current pics take you through from cutting up, test fitting, applying compound and a bit of sanding + dremeling.
The bits:
Placing parts:
Stuff glued on yo:
This was done with a glue gun to get a temporary placement.
Notice location of head unit bracket thingy, this is because the head unit needs to clear the gear linkage.
Test fit shows all is secksy, but that the metal bracket in the 'lude will need to be cut out a bit, this won't be a problem though:
\o/
Applied:
Drying, soon another layer of fibreglass compound goes on:
More later, as I said, if you want to see all the pics, go here:

This stuff fascinates me. Do you have to spring for something like an AEM EMS rig to get realtime telemetry, or are there cheaper alternatives? _________________

This is where it gets tricky for a Prelude.
Almost all Honda OBD1 ecu's are capable of datalogging, you can do this for free pretty much Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! | has all you want to read. With a standard OBD1 Honda ECU you can tune it, program it, datalog etc, it is a very capable ECU.
The Prelude P13 is a bit on an exception and full tuning + datalogging is currently not possible (the maps are read differently). The 'best' choice is to get an OBD1 Integra ECU (P72) and use that. You will end up with all the features of an aftermarket ECU, for the price of a second hand Honda ECU
PMGFI.org has links to free programs to read/write honda ECU data as well as do datalogging etc etc. _________________

what are you using for your bluetooth by the way? I'm running phonecontrol.net with a SE K800i phone and it seems to work pretty well... I had issues with my old motorola D900 though... _________________

I started to post on this thread yesterday, but the forum gave up on me
Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
I've had a PC in the lude now for 3 years, i met Garry at a CarPC meet about 2 years ago when he still had a *cough* non-jap car. Glad he changed his ways
Most the preludes I've seen so far with a screen in that position usually loose the head unit, something I didn't want to do either, hence using the air vent space. Mounting it higher up, for me, makes it more user friendly but less OEM looking (which is something than doesn't really bother me ).
Keep us updated _________________

DAY2:
More sanding and dremeling after another layer of fibreglass being added. Again, the dremel is a total, utter godsend. If you don't have one, go and buy one now, if you can't think of a use for it, you are a liar and by extension a child molester.
Starting to take more shape:
