Right I'm selling up as I now walk to work and my baby is sitting on the front (no garage anymore Sad ) getting dirty and unused!

Car is a completely standard 5th gen, 1997 2.2 VTi Manual.

I have done various things to the car in the 2 years i have owned it, and it has never let me down. Drives well, little bit of hesitation now and again which is due to needing a new 02 sensor. I keep meaning to replace it but since moving house i now have nowhere to work on the car as I live on a main road so i have been putting it off for a few weeks since i dont drive the car anymore.

There is a slight oil leak which I think is coming from the rocker cover gasket. doesnt leak much oil at all really, a drip a day at the most.

interior is mint apart from slight softness of the seat bolster on drivers side.

exterior is ok, wheel arches have a bit of rust and there are a few dings here and there, nothing unusual for a car of this age. still looks lovely after a wash and polish.

I really am gutted to sell her as i waited a long time to get a 5th gen, but with having no garage and living on a main road, along with not driving her it seems pointless to keep her sat there.

Full years MOT and taxed til sept 10. Recent handbrake cable replacement and caliper refurbish. Good service history with plenty of receipts, timing belt kit bought to replace which i havent got round to doing but will include in sale.

Looking for offers over £950 or PX for a cheap diesel banger that i wont mind leaving on road to rot!!

it really is, im gutted to be selling as i saved so hard to get it, but it really isnt getting used and now i dont have a garage im really reluctant to let it sit there.

I do use her once a week or so to go to football so this is why im looking for a runabout in p/exchange if possible, I just cant justify having a nice (and expensive to insure!) car sitting there doing nowt.

Yeah - I can get some pics no problems. Will try and PM them to you either Tuesday or Wednesday.

I am second owner, I bought it in 2006 - 78,000-80,000 miles (can't remember off top of my head, will check tomorrow). I've done a lot of those miles myself, girlfriend lived in Glasgow and me in London when we were students. It's black with A/C, Dynamique model registered Feb '03, 52 plate. I have had the alternator replaced as well as rear suspension and had a new one piece exhaust fitted as the original 2 piece one kept rattling loose. My average MPG is 38 according to onboard computer.

It has slight dent in the bonnet, and the start of some rust on passenger door where some paint has chipped away, about 1cm long. It's a shame as immac. 1.6 Clio's still fetch quite a bit even now.

I love driving it - it's basically a Megane 1.6 engine in a clio body and it's really nippy..... it's no Lude, but.... pretty fun.

For the next year or so, the company I work for pay my petrol so I see now as a good time to drive something like a prelude, and I've been looking for a cheap black 5th gen for a while.

What happened to your pics? Any chance u can get them up again?? If we both like the cars in question I'm looking for a straight swap where possible.

Lemme know what u think...
