I had always wanted to get myself Honda Prelude. So now that i have got two years no claims and can afford to keep the beast i got my self one. Its 1997 5th gen 2.2 Vti Vtec. I was just gona get the softer 2.0i but then i thought you only live once and got myself the high spec version. Its a UK version. It has 4WS (fully wokring thanks to the help from some of you on the forum).
I'm only 20, work part time and most of the time im at university so i cant afford to do a lot of modification like some of you here but i will keep this profile updated on everything i do. I also dont have any mechanical knowledge but im going try and learn on this car.
Here are some pics.
Looked good without any rust or body damage:

So far i have upgraded the cd headunit. I brought Sony MEX-R1, which plays DVD and MP3s. I wanted something with AUX input so i can connect my ipod touch.

Just brought this coz i could hook up any mp3 players and listen them through cars speakes.
Well happy with the install as i did this all my self withouht any knowleadge. Looks good aswell.
I will also try to do TV in the headrest because my headunit can play DVD aswell. That will be done later though.
No major plans at the moment coz i already ran out of money but was looking to get some nice alloys (18" white).

Good luck with all buddy!
Like you said, your able to enjoy the beast now so enjoy it, and do the modifications once your out of uni and earning the big bucks
Just keep her mechanically sound now, and she'll love you for it when you give her a new dress later in life. _________________ Traded with;

Yeah agree with JDM-BB4.
Loving the white wheels bud, welcome to the club.
When you fit them you'll have new owner...the wheels. Enjoy keeping them clean! But oh so worth it! _________________

Very nice example mate, and good choice with the wheels, uber sexy in white!
I'm 20 with 2 yrs no claims, most of my quotes were coming back around the same price as yours on my jdm 4th gen (mods declared), however Sky insurance managed to undercut my cheapest for 1200-1300 (can't remeber exactly lol). Might be worth giving them a ding come renewal time.. |

Do me a favour and weight the stock Motegi rim. I find them way way to heavy. Especially at low speeds. IIRC 9.9kg. |
i just weighed them and they are around 8-9kg. i didnt have a digital scale and the needle was between 8 and 9. |

just been off from uni so i did lots of overtime at work and had the chance to buy more things for my prelude .
I managed to get the motegi wheel finished in diamond white and got some second hand tyres so the wheels are on the car now.
soory about the pics i didnt have digital camera with me that i time.
Also got my self a rear boot spoiler and the type s intake system (wiv K&N filter panel). Cheers for type s intake Dino.
I will have to get the spoiler sprayed coz its silver. will try to put the type-s intake in the weekend.
heres a pic of the lot i managed to find.
