there is a streeta bit like that in manchester behind piccadilly station i drove along it you could see the horizon from the top as it dropped away i didnt know it was that steep the first time and got big air as i drove off the edge it was scary and it was cobbled

Ha ha, known (very) locally as the end of the world!

It doesn't even graduate at the top, just starts with an abrupt angle.

The first time I came across that road I was in my mates car (a chevette Laughing ), he didn't warn me it was coming up and it felt like driving off a cliff edge, good air too. Shocked

Anyone been over hard knot pass in the lakes? That's got several 1 in 3 hairpins, I travelled down it at 5mph and it cooked my brakes!!! Shocked

Did that a few years back on an MTB holiday with the father-in-law driving. As you approach you can't see anything over the bonnet, he actually got out to check whether the road continued or if it just ended. Shocked

I've been planning to head back up there to ride the trails but I don't expect I'll be able to take the family and bikes in the Prelude. Confused

1 in 5 eh? I cycled up a 1 in 4 in the Summer and can testify that anything approaching that is seriously steep. Approaching the top I glanced round to see where my friend was, got vertigo and nearly fell off. Razz

1in2.86 makes a 1in5 look like a small hillock! Laughing
