Why have I been asking about Mugen stuff all of a sudden? Well I quite like the bumper, and I like the look of the spoiler...

So when a Prelude being broken came on eBay 2 days ago, which just happened to have a sebring silver Mugen Spoiler on it... I wanted to investigate exactly what else I should scavenge from it Wink

So I went and bought the spoiler... I also bought wind deflectors and some JDM head lights. No idea if spoiler is genuine mind... How do I tell? Were any replicas made? Either way I'm not really bothered Smile

And guess what, it had the bumper too! However it was smashed to pieces. I nearly wept as the guy at the scrap yard took an angle grinder to what was left of the bumper to remove the lights for me. I think there had been some front end damage at some point, as the lights were wedged in.

Sadly it didn't have the Mugen skirts.

Cool

Yes mate, good find indeed. I've never heard of any replica spoilers, too hard to replicate for the average joe.

Looks spot on from the pics. Your lucky it's on the boot and should have the four clips that hold it to the sides. Cool

I see what you mean on your PM now from the description. It would be ace mate.

Right let's get some photos in here! Twisted Evil

Yes the clips are present...

How do I get the spoiler off? I'm not terribly interested in the whole boot!

Wow, what an eye opener Shocked I have seen quite a few threads on the forum with bits and bobs on Mugen, mostly from nucleusytlelude (wrong spelling?!) but didn't know there was so many bits.

Engine-wise, anyone know how powerful was the Mugen lude after the mods? Would love to see some more pics of this cos I didn't know Mugen did so much for the Prelude Embarassed

While I'm on the subject, I know about Spoon and Jun but were there any other tuners that were this involved? Any pics of any of the work that these companies have done?

Come on, don't clog this thread with swear words such as Jun! Laughing

To be fair, I think Jun took the engine further.

While it is astonishing how much stuff they made, finding any of it is hard, especially not being in Japan. I think the UK has been very lucky with the number of imported ludes that made it over with Mugen goodies on, more so than the states I'd say.

Complete and utter bull TBH. That's just an aftermarket spoiler based on the Nissan R33 GTR.

Anyway a little collection of pics to keep the thread alive. Any comments/ questions welcome people.

These are the 'C' clips for the rear spoiler pezking. They just have a small allen key threaded stud. Undo all four, then the three spokes that contact the boot, will just have some padded double sided tape. Get a hair drier on it to unstick easily.

However please note that you may need the boot, because if you already have a spoiler the OEM Honda one bolts through drilled holes in the boot. The Mugen spoiler simply sits on a fresh boot with no holes and clips to the edges. Plus the spokes on the side are so far forward that they don't cover the old spoiler holes. Mine had to be welded over smoothed and the boot resprayed (with the rest of the car!).

Some of the many pics out there on forums and the web generally, Aries' Mugen Lude over in the states. Last I heard the kit was up for sale for top, top dollar. Legendary build though:

Cool

I clearly should have looked closer at the clips! Didn't see that they are allen keys.

It's a good thing I got the boot then! It might be a long time before it's fitted. I was considering spraying the spoiler myself, but if the boot needs doing too it might be a step too far for me. We'll see.

I want the bumper and skirts now. I will have them. They will be mine. Oh yes, they will be mine. Lol

In that last photo, is the reflector, next to the indicator, custom?

It looks like a custom air intake thingy.

Here's the only bit of Mugen I have on my car. hate-cool
I don't know if it's genuine or not. Maybe Nucleustylz can confirm?
