I have the green 'Prelude' light fitted from the factory. You will generally find that JDM Ludes from 1992-93 had the option of a high level red brake light. JDM Ludes made in 1993 had this converted to a green 'Prelude' light which comes on with the sidelights, as Honda introduced the high level brake light in the spoiler. Cars made after 94 just had the option of the spoiler light.
Incidentally, I retro-fitted a 'Prelude' light in my last UKDM Lude, and as someone mentioned before, it just requires 2 wires running into the boot. _________________

Sorry guys, still a little confused. So am I right in saying that the following versions exist:
1 - Standard red high-level brake light with no 'Prelude' lens
2 - JDM 'Prelude' high-level brake light (same as 1 but with 'Prelude' lens)
3 - JDM 'Prelude' high-level light that comes on with the sidelights (do these have double-sided tape on the back of the lens too?)
4 - Spoiler light
Is that right? |

Mart is correct, only 1, 3 & 4 exist (as far as I'm aware). _________________

theres either the light that glows up green saying prelude
or a high level red brake light |
Hmm...well my light has a green Prelude lens that would light up under braking (if there was no tape on the back of it!). But isn't this different to the one that lights up with your sidelights or is that just to do with people modifying the wiring to make this happen instead? |

correct
its only a case of swapping 2 wires over so its wired to the brake light instead of the side lights _________________

Gotcha I assume that all the 'Prelude' lenses have tape on the back as standard though right? I recall seeing some pics on here of someone's original Prelude brake light and it was very bright (was it you mart?) - I'm guessing they must have removed the tape? |
