Bought my 4th gen a while back which came with gold badges, but as you would imagine with age they had started to deteriorate. Crying or Very sad

After much searching on the interweb a friend of a friend actually recommended someone locally to get some plating done. Everywhere else i called either didn't want to know because of low quantity or were going to charge somewhere in the region of £100 to get them done.

So, after finding some better condition silver badges i got them done with Plating Magic

for a very reasonable price of around £30. This didn't include postage as I was local I popped in to see the guy (does it from home). I dropped them off in my lunch break about 1:30pm and by about 3:00pm i had a call saying they were done! Shocked

As you can see, much better! Very Happy

oh, and if you were wondering, yes it's real 24ct gold and my badges in his gallery Cool

yeah, remember it's only plating tho, only a very thin coat on there.

car's parked on a driveway, very low crime area so lucky from that respect really.

I'll get some pics up next time i clean it Very Happy

I found a guy near me does this, not just gold but variants on it with tints in and allsorts, silver, chrome etc etc etc.

Also seems to be able to virtually plate anything Shocked

and is pretty resiliant to cleaning (some out there plate so thin the breeze takes it off)!

goes by Gold2U though it might be worth a mention!

The guy from Gold2U actually trained the guy I got mine done with! I spoke to him when I was shopping around and was who I was going to go with until I found who did mine locally.
