I've used Meguairs Nxt for some time now, both in liquid and paste form.
It does give a great deep, darker look, and does a good job of filling/hiding swirls etc and is easy to apply and remove.
It seemed to need waxing after every wash, not sure if I was using too much NXT shampoo and stripping the wax off.
So I wanted to try something else.
I am now a Bilt Hamber convert.
The Auto wash is great and dosen't strip the wax off.
The Auto balm seems to last well and is easy to use if you follow the directions and has the extra protection qualities. It also comes with an applicator pad and stockinette.

Nxt can be applied to the whole car and be left for a while before buffing.
The Auto balm is applied to a small section at a time(1/2 door, 1/4 bonnet etc) then wait a few moments before buffing off. The applicator should also be used damp.

Yes, AB needs to be applied damp and wiped off almost immediately, so it's very quick to use. It doesn't bead, but it does protect very well, it also has anti corrosion properties on bare metal and resists salt spray for quite some time.

If you apply it in straight lines, it also fills swirls in the paintwork.

In the future, i understand it to be during the summer, there should be a "topper" for AB and this will add a "beading" effect to water that lands on the car.

By topper do you mean a quick detailer type product.
I have Mequiars QD, but I'm not sure how it will work with the Auto balm.

Kind of, but not really, QD won't do that kind of thing with it. The only "problem" with AB is that it doesn't bead water, so the topper would be for that.
