hi all.

im chris from newcatle

been into honda's for as long ive owned cars, been back and forth a few times, prelude is number 21 i think, honda wise, ive had 3 eg's, a turbo'd esi, vti and jdm vti. 2 crx's a vtec and most recently a 16v, oh and a del sol.

i swapped my crx yesterday for a 2.2 import, dont know a great deal about preludes. so just took the plunge. and also in mind that it needs a full respray, the lad painted it in a moment of madness

so far im enjoying the drive, not overly impreesed with the speed, but over all is nice to drive.

im used to cars being a little more raw, so ill be looking into removing air con, climate control and maybe power steering, and maybe 4ws, cant make up my mind about it yet. jut shed afew pounds in general

here's a pic

crazy paint. so plenty of funny looks at the min

Hello hate-saluto Welcome to PUK.

Thats the camo-lude, I didnt know it was sold. The previous owner was on here. When he was spraying it, it generated quite a bit of interest. It certainly is different, I think its Cool .

Hi Browny, welcome to PUK Smile Great to hear that you have decided to give a lude a try after the various other Hondas you have had. I take it the lude is a BB1 meaning that it has a lot of toys as you mention (4WS etc.) but of course, this results in quite a bit of added weight.

Not sure how much you know about ludes already but the most raw version of the 4th gen lude available is the bb4 which does away with the 4WS, sunroof, cruise control etc, most of which you can get rid of if you so wish Smile

As for the bodywork, that is also the first thing I would do. Ok, it's a good "camo" job but personally I think it's ruined the look of what was a nice looking lude. Glad to hear you're gonna do something to sort this out Smile

PS - any pics of your old Hondas?

i dont mean to moan but this mis-information is really starting to annoy me now

the ONLY difference between a BB1 and a BB4 is the 4WS all other things were optional

you can get BB4's with sunroofs and cruise and everything else

you can even get BB1's with LSD

unless you were saying that the rawest is a BB4 which also has no sunroof, cruise etc.
if so then i apologise.... but it seems that alots of people get this mixed up and it confuses new members

I've never seen a BB1 without a sunroof. Do they exist? Confused

Welcome to the forum by the way browny. Wink

Yep, you're right mate and I apologise for the way I have expressed this. What I mean is that the most raw 4th gen one can find is one with no sunroof, no 4WS, no traction control, no cruise control etc - which is more than likely going to be a BB4. As BB1s have 4WS, nobody looking for a "raw" lude is going to be looking at this chassis.

Hope that clears things up Smile
