So i might be neeeding a new clutch kit..

There are some questions:

Do you think or advise me to spend a bit extra and get the Lighten flywheel at the same time..???

I have set my eyes on Exedy OEM clutch but what are Stage1 like??

What about company called F1? They are considerably cheaper then the Exedy but are they good?

Thanks guys for any input.. Very Happy

Atm my car is tucked up in my backyard and will not be moving untill this get sorted.. and also i got no money so its gona have to be full 2 weeks overtime till i get this sorted... Sad

Now would be an ideal time to get a lightened and balanced flywheel.
You will have the gearbox and clutch off anyway so if you can afford the bit extra for the fly wheel I would go for it!

I would steer clear of F1 parts, heard they arent the best and in the end you get what you pay for and these arent the kind of parts you want to skimp on.
bearing in mind they are going to be spinning at upto 7500rpm! Razz

I have heard the exedy stage 1 is good. not much difference in feel over the OEM but good if your going to do some track/1/4mile or quick launches.
Probably a waste of time if its just going to be road use IMO. Wink

Dave.

There are lots of flywheel, different wieght.. there are 3.6kg, 5kg etc..

Are there any disadvanatgaes of using lighten flywheels???

Fidanza is tried and tested, so stick with that or another well known brand.

The only disadvantages of a lightened flywheel I can see are, lower top end speed, quicker drop in revs when you come of fthe accelerator and sometimes I have found the revs dip pretty low(500rpm) when coming to a stop, but it never cuts out.

ive read about people moaning that their lightened flywheel has effected their MPG also, so if your a conservative driver then you might want to give the flywheel a miss! but this is just from what ive read, i havent any experience with uprated flywheels so dont take my word for it Smile

I have been reading lots of topics on other forums especially Honda-Tech and people give it a big thumbs up for the lightend flywheel.. Smile
Obviously there are downsides but they are overshadowed by the good side... Cool

I have got a quote from VTECdirect already and it will cost £309 for Exedy OEM clutch and XTD 4.4kg flywheel.... Ooucchhh!!! Mad Sad

But i guess there is a price u pay for the Top quality products..

Im still awaiting reply from other people including invo-Tec.. Idea

I think I have seen a few clutch and flywheels for sale in the for sale section.
Check it out!

Price up a clutch and flywheel combo from the seller gripforce on ebay.com

Thats where many have got theirs for much less than cost over here.
Guess it will vary with the exchange rates and delivery costs + import taxes etc.

Look more heavily on google and ebay, I picked up my exedy clutch new for 100 quid. Was a good quality clutch but it didnt come with the alignment tool, fitting it is a pain in the arse so don't buy inferior products. Smile

Yeah get in touch with gripforce.

Go to ebay.co.uk, and do a shop search for gripforce, and then select clutches when the option appears.

You will then find a Fidanza 8lb flywheel and excedy clutch combo which is great (in my opinion!)

You can email the guys (I think their actual name is under speedshop ltd or something) and get a price for those bits, and delivery all as one, which can be paid with paypal. Very Happy

The price on ebay (GripForce) is $230.99 and Postage $119.. So its $349.99 Arrow around £250.

Got in contact with VTECdirect.Com. They quoted me £309 for Exedy Clutch and ATD lightweight Flywheel..

Im thinkin to go buy from vtec direct, i know its £50 more but i will get it in a couple of days and also in UK so if anything is wrong i can send back and get quick replies... Idea

In January I bought an Exedy Standard Clutch Kit from Tegiwa Imports for £140 and a Fidanza flywheel from Speed Solution International (gripforce-clutches through eBay) for £173.19 (including the £16.46 duties and government surcharge which they conveniently won't tell you about in advance).

You should also consider getting new flywheel and clutch bolts too:

- £26.04 - 90011-PH3-000 flywheel 12mm bolts x8
- £21.90 - 90034-689-000 clutch bolts x 6

You may find this of interest:

I have to agree the flywheel totally changes the car, just makes it rev's so much easier.

I drove the girlfriends UKDM after driving my JDM with a fibanza flywheel and it was so sluggish, I was just waiting for the rev's to rise.

If you cost in import duty to the Exedy/Fidanze combo the exedy/ATD is only going to be £20 more. I have no experience of ATD parts so couldnt comment on them.

Grip force is a relieable seller and they are quality parts but incase something does go wrong the UK sourced parts may be less hassle in the long run.

Or if you want to get the exedy clutch from tegiwa, I have a Fidanza 8lb flywheel brand new here I was going to fit to my spare silver BB4. Yours for £140. Wink Do the math.
