As mentioned in the into post I said I would be cleaning her soon, just used a claybar and AutoGlym super resin polish, was planning on the Megs 3 stage system too but didn't feel like it. Anyway she came up nicely, red rather than shiny pink !!

Look at the state of the rear arch Evil or Very Mad I hope that was a DIY job and not a "bodyshop"

Couple of pics of the F22B engine which is filthy as you can see, looks all of her 16 years old under here, me thinks it won't be a quick job to clean it Rolling Eyes

The picture flatter her a bit but in the flesh she does look well too, quiet eye catching Very Happy

That looks much better, i take it the clay was a little worse for wear when you were done?

Cheers Very Happy
Surprisingly the claybar didn't take much off, the Sper Resin polish on the other hand took off loads of old red stuff. I was a tad perplexed but the end result was better than expected. Come the long evenings I will make a better effort at getting her super shiny. Need matching indicators, must have a look at the plugs and perhaps a K&N panel filter before then though.

I'm actually edging towards the orange but whichever I can get first I suppose. Come the end of this week the Prelude will be resting until the end of April as my old car is taxed till then. What's my old car I hear you say ...........

No Rover jokes please gents Very Happy I do like Rovers, lol. My old SS2 Celica is also seen in that thread, the Prelude is so much nicer to drive and almost as fast, the Celica was the 3SGE 175 bhp one complete with superstrut suspension and LSD. Being honest after the driving the Prelude I couldn't see myself going for a Celica again, unless it was a GT4. Now an MR2 on the otherhand is still on my to own list.

Very shiny! Looks like she has been in a front end prang at some point? Bonnet/wing seems a bit out of line over the driver-side headlight. Still, looks good mate Smile

Yep, you're dead right Smile
Mustn't have been too bad though, you can see in one of the engine shots how the front panel is bent downwards a bit, this has the headlight pushed down. From what I can gather the front panel is original so the smack must have been light enough.

Yeah, guess it must have been quite a light shunt so it's all good. Actually, a similar thing happened to mine recently, where my passenger-side wing got bent in and the headlight panel got bent. Insurance company considered it a write off so sorted it myself. Got to keep the ludes on the road eh? Razz

Looking good, came up really well. hate-ok

You might want to consider a layer of wax on top of the SRP to add some protection and keep the shine lasting for so much longer.

The black trim lets it down a little though, so grab yourself some Autoglym Bumper & Trim gel and that will come up a treat.

To bring your wind deflectors back to new, use some T-cut on them or better still, some Meguiars PlastX.

As Shiny said, definitely get a layer of wax on to protect from the elements.

Looking good so far! hate-cool

Thanks for the tips gents, I usually use tyre gel to bring up the plastic / rubber bits, have none at the moment though. Will give her a much better valet in a month or so, she only has 3 more days left on the road before a 6 week rest !!

Got the clear indicators and reflectors for her, so instead if this.......

I now have this...

Poor pics I know but the car is living in the drive at the moment, many thanks to Colin (aardvark64) for selling me the indicators and lenses, perfect transaction for me.

Much better! Very Happy

Are you going to have a go at straightening out the headlight housing?
Probably wont need too much work.
