|
|
Hello did my first run what ya brung at the pod in my Prelude yesterday. Been a couple of times in the various Clio Sports etc i have had in the past and got times around 15.85. I didnt know wat to expect from my Prelude but have always thought it has felt quicker top end compared with the Clio's. I didnt collect my times till the very end of the evening so i never knew what my times were during my runs.
I did 4 runs:
1st run I screwed up my launch was too agressive and wheel spun loads then missed 2nd so had a time of 17.25
2nd run went for a much less agressive start feathered the clutch to get moving then floored it got a 14.8
3rd run went for same type of launch and got a 14.62
4th run again abit more revs but similar style of launch and got 14.50
Specs of my car are:
1995 UKDM 2.2vtec 4WS no mods that i am aware of
Now I was wondering are these the sort of times you would expect or should they have been much quicker or slower than that? The times were alot quicker than i expected.
Was bloody good fun down there as always and there were plenty of V8 american monsters running. Plus saw a white import Prelude was that anyone here?
Cheers

I think they are very good times for a UK spec with no mods

I have no idea what service condition mine is in as I bought it with no service history the guy i bought it from seemed to have treated it well and im only the third owner and its only on 87k. Ive just changed the entire exhaust including the downpipe (except for the CAT) for brand new OEM parts mainly bought from ebay otherwise i have done nothing to this car.
The main reason i was confused by the times is because my mate was running a 260bhp Quattro Audi S2 and that was doing very low 14's so being 5 10ths behind seemed pretty good. But if you think these are just good times for a good condition Prelude then I am quite please with those times |

(sorry about quality done on camera fone)
Dont have the slip for the final one I was in one of the last runs which finished just after 9pm so nothing was printed. My mates who were in the stand told me that time, so you'll just have to take mine and there word for it on that one.
As you can see my actual reaction times are abit crappy but basically i was always trying to avoid wheelspin by holding the car on the clutch at about 2000rpm (the first run there was far too much wheelspin) and then when it went green feathering out the clutch and once moving flooring it. By my last run I was reving alittle higher about 2500-3rpm thats it really. Gear changes were 8000 rpm just before limiter for every gear. |
