4th Gen UKDM vs JDM:

JDM standard parts:
Electronic climate control
Single-piece, plastic front headlights
Square rear numberplate surround
More powerful 2.2 VTEC engine (H22A): Higher compression ratio, knock sensor, ECU set for 100 RON fuel

UKDM standard parts:
Manual air conditioning
ABS
Oblong rear numberplate surround
Sunroof
4WS
Engines: 2.0 (F20), 2.3 (H23A), 2.2 VTEC (H22A2)
Rear fog light
SRS (airbags)

Options on JDM:
Cruise Control
Limited Slip Differential
Traction Control System (only with LSD)
Sunroof delete
4WS delete
Engines: 2.0 (F20), 2.2 non-VTEC engine (F22B), 2.2 VTEC (H22A)
Map lights
Puddle lights
High-level brake light
Side window wind deflectors
Sunroof wind deflector
ABS
SRS (airbags)
In-dash TV
Air purifier

Options on both:
Rear spoiler
Mud flaps
Front fog lights

There may well be more - please add/remove from the list if I've got it wrong!

I think cruise was standard on JDMs as well, not an option
The map lights were only an option on the facelift I think Confused

more JDM standard bits (some are a bit trivial!!)

Bronze tinted glass all round
Folding mirrors
No rear fog light
Jap writing everywhere including fusebox, cruise buttons, sunvisor

more JDM options:

Headlight sensors
Auto wipers
Gathers double DIN player with the DSP surround system
Cornering lights
Front/Rear parking sensors
Keyless Entry
Parking Pole
Power Seats
Rear storage bin
Boot liner (plastic tray)
Different gear gaiter (had a round gear selector symbol on it)
Gathers high level centre dash tweeters

UK vs JDM differences:

Option of rear storage box between seats, no rear storage box with a flat divider, or a flat divider with a recess in it.

One more UK vs JDM difference I noticed on BR1TT3Ns facelift lude - he has a 'headlights on' light on the dash unit (temp/fuel) whereas my JDM doesn't

Hopefully someone can compile a huge list from all these posts!!!

You learn something new every day!

Found a few more:

The H23 timing belt, water pump, balancer shaft belt and cam seals with work on the F22B DOHC JDM motor

The exhausts on a 4th and 5th gen are interchangeable apart from one of the hangers on the backbox which'll need adjusting

5g 2.0i and 2.2 exhausts from catback are compatible

which may be obvious but most exhaust are listed for 2.2 but they will fit the 2.0i

Here's a couple of engine differences off the top of my head between 4th Gen & 5th Gen H22's.

Engine Management

4th Gen = OBD1
5th Gen = OBD2

Fuel Injectors

4th Gen = Peak & Hold 345cc
5th Gen = Saturated 290cc

Engine Block

4th Gen = Closed Deck
5th Gen = Open Deck

Crankshafts

4th Gen (actually 1992 - 97) = 50mm diameter Main Journal.
5th Gen (actually 1998 - 01) = 55mm diameter Main Journal

You missed corner parking sensors from the JDM model, and maybe the In-dash tv (didn't notice it)

Parking sensors are very rare though...

Paul

Are you 100% on this? My understanding from what I've read on honda-tech is that some 4G H22 blocks are open deck and some are closed, and there doesn't seem to be any consistent pattern to it.

Although HT does seem to be largely populated by hormone-crazed teenagers with more money than sense these days, so I could be talking nonsense Smile
