i ummm not sure how to say it for me personally i used to sell d2 stuff and i dont like it and dont really sell it anymore tein stuff the quality is great it weighs more than the d2 but i can almost gurantee it will last longer d2 stuff looks cool but for me anyway its not got the 25 years of motorsport experience put into the design or feel to their setups,

tein do a few different kits for the ludes as well,i LOVE the feel teins give the car and i dont just mean ludes ive had them on civics, integra type r,skylines, supras to be honest i prefer them over most other brands

mmmm im really not sure now, i really like the fact the TEINs always get praise for the top ride quality, but this top mount things bugs me, how much extra is it for the mounts then?

Also Kel you say the DC2s you loose alot when you drop the car, loose what!? Confused

jules you buy the top mounts as part of the kit
superstreet - £534.37 includes vat and postage
superstreet with upper mounts - £713 includes vat and postage

you might not think so but this is cheap for suspension ive had kits for over £1500 on some cars ive imported and those kind of kits have been awesome for the appropriate use,

my old dc2 type r ive had on 2 wheels going round bends on superstreets when on hard, playing around with ride height is equally important to the feel of each individual car theres alot to be said about a car from the suspension tuning side of things for me to have got the dc2 on 2 wheels i felt confident enough put it that way not that i made a habbit of it lol but i knew the way it was set up to go through this particular roundabout with a straight after it it was going to come out the other side in one piece,

the superstreet kit on its own is a nice kit i think anyway and thats the particular kit we have on ours i have 18's on ours and it feels like its on rails to me even on 18's personally id prefer the lude to have 17's

Correct em if I'm wrong, but the only different the top mounts make is allowing you to adjust the front camber?

I got the superstreets and top mounts on my car atm, although its still at trac art so cant comment on how good they are!

I didn't think the top mounts for the Prelude allow you to adjust the camber. Though I may be wrong.

Yeah they are not adjustable camber top mounts.
I asked about some as they would have been handy. Sad

People, there's no topmounts available for the 4g lude which lets you adjust the front camber.

Ones that come with Tein's and D2's are just ordinary top mounts to replace you standard one. It's obviously better to use their appropriate top mounts for spring seating.

Jules - I meant droop NOT drop. Droop is the amount of travel the shocks have when it's unloaded (i.e. jacked up). D2's are a bit firm even on the softest setting because of this and most of it because of the damper valving design.

Ahhh i understand now, thanks Kel. i really like the fact the D2's come with the top mount with the price and are still considerable cheaper than the Teins but the harshness concerns me as i wana fx all the nasty rattle in the car over the summer so want a firm but comfortable ride which many say the Tein offer, dont suppose anyone from this site has been lucky enough to experiance bot sets??

Just to be fair Jules, the D2's are the 1st coilovers I have experienced so not really sure how harsh it is compared to others (for all I know it could be 'soft' compared to others Laughing).

It also depends what profile tyres you're running. This GREATLY affects the ride especially when coupled with coilovers Exclamation Lower the profile, the harsher it gets.

Saying that, I know a lot of people running Teins with nothing but good things to say about them Cool They're well known for a reason Cool

If you want the Teins, just get a new top mount from your local motorfactors to couple with your fresh set of coilovers Cool Remember the top mount makes a lot of difference to steering feel & turn-ins.

As always your advice is invaluable Kel, cheers! Cool

Mmm well the ride's going to be harsh then as im running SubZ 18s with 35s, maybe it would be best to go for just an uprated damper set up then, just fancy slammin it on its arse come show season! Razz
