Sadly my lude is starting to show signs of symptoms
No visible leaks, left the car for days and no pool beneath.. white smoke came out from exhaust at times but went for a leak test, no problems..
but i realise the engine oil dropped massively from max to way below min within a week or say 200 miles.. Kwik Fit says the its white smoke at the exhaust because the cat has filtered the blue smoke..
So guys, what is the possible problem? what is the possible solutions and if you rebuild a F20A4 how much would it be?
i love the car but problems kept coming out >.<
cheers! _________________ MicAngGT |

What mileage do you have on the car, and have oil changes been done regularly during the car's life?
Worn oil stem seals and/or piston rings can cause quite drastic amounts of oil to be lost into the combustion chamber, where it is burnt off leaving no evidence of drips on the floor. The excessive smoke you mentioned would indicate this. I had this problem on my old Lude which was at 140k and hadn't been looked after by previous owners. _________________

@MaD - Yup no oil seen on the floor.. i'm not so sure if i didn't drive it didn't lose any, cause usually i check weekly with moederate uses everyday..
oil was changed a month ago.. but the previous owner is really crap (no offese)..
@Taffy - car is running close to 140k miles (139++).. as the previous owner doesn't look very "car friendly" i doubt its changed regularly :S
so how do you smoke your lude problem?
cheers guys! _________________ MicAngGT |

I checked my car today out of curiousity and.. OH MY GOD!! Oil, seriously black in colour in the coolant tank! engine oil dropped as expected..
i don't intend to take it for a compression leak test cause i seriously feel its a waste of time?
i emailed performance autowork regarding rebuilding engine but no replies yet
any other recommendated workshops for rebuild/swap engines?
many thanks _________________ MicAngGT |

Have PA got a contact number on their website?
Ive never used them before, but i can't ignore the massive amount of recommendations from many, many members. They would certainly be the only recommendation i could give. _________________

Head gasket then. Head off, head skimmed, new gasket, re-assembled, drop coolant, drop oil, flush through & refill. _________________
