Hi all,
I am finally getting round to posting pics of my latest prelude. It's my fourth one. Its a 2.2vti auto 4ws and I love driving the 4ws!!! I forgot how nice it was. However, one of my pet hates is cheap looking, wood effect, trim. On my previous 5th gen UK prelude I bought one of those stick on dash trim kits in brushed aluminium and thought it was an improvement. This time I have done it the right way!! This UK 5th gen dash was different and the stick on dash trim kit would not fit. So, I removed the radio surround and door card inserts, then took the dash clock surround and speaker grilles, and had them all sprayed the same colour as the car!!! I finished it off with a 7" screen, DVD, multimedia player, bought cheap on EBAY. There was a slight steering wheel shudder on braking at speed, so I fitted 4 new discs and pads. The engine sounded harsh without the vtec so a service, plugs, oil and filters has the car driving like brand new!!! My only concern, as the MOT is coming soon, is the drivers seatbelt is very slow to retract. Has anyone experienced this? Not sure if this will cause a MOT fail. Anyway, have a look at my pics and let me know what you think!!! Thanks. ( Anyone fitted lambo doors to a Prelude???).

Hi John, welcome to the forum. Nice looking Lude mate; the silver interior trims are a nice touch. Regarding the seatbelt, you should be cool, so long as it works. It maybe just needs a bit of a clean. Have a look at the technical manual to give yourself an idea of how to go about it. It's available to download under the Technical Info/How-To's section.

Knowing the guys on here and their wealth of knowledge someone may very well be along soon with detailed advice on how to fix it!!! Laughing

Happy Luding mate. Cool

welcome along. nice looking car you have there. regarding the seat belts for MOT, the requirement is that the inertia reel will retract fully. how fast or whether it is aided or not doesnt matter Wink

Welcome to the forum Big John. Very Happy
I'm sure I've read somewhere, that cleaning your seatbelts with Mr Sheen or a similar product will help. Maybe one that contains silicone? Confused
