As for the IAB's, it's simply switching the vacuum pipes

4WS has a seperate ECU
EGR doesn't work with new ECU (P28)
Disclaimer, don't blame me if you fúck it up! lol |
so by doing this it operates the IAB's to open at what rpm? or keep them open all the time? closed all the time? |
They are open all the time. |
Whats the pro's and cons of that method?
I read on PP that you can connect the hose to the IM so it opens based on throttle position. Just wondering why you chose this way if you can have them opening and closing "normally" _________________

I'm not technically minded but, more air all the time, more power.
I've also got a 'ram air kit' fitted.
I must admit I have to get the A/F ratio tuned, but my closest tuner want's £100 + VAT, and he's about 40 miles away.
I've also had a AFPR fitted and can sort of tune it that way. |

Yeah, I was talking to the guy that makes them, the problem is is do I need the EGR to be working for the car to pass the MOT, he couldn'nt answer that question so I did'nt buy one.
I will find out within 2 weeks as my car is due for a MOT
I've had the decat put back on so hopefully the car would pass.
It's never failed a MOT so fingers crossed! |

So you are saying that I have to have the stock ECU to pass the MOT? |

Its something I havent fully read up about yet, but some of the folks in the US say it shouldnt make too much of a difference I thought you already knew you had to have it on to pass (I miss-read your post), give it a go without .
Do you still have it connected as normal?
Edit - Do you know what RPM the MOT tester will rev the car to during the MOT for emissions? The stock EGR isnt meant to operate at idle or WOT. _________________

I'm going to leave it on [ECU] and find out if it passes or not, it doesn't take long to swap if it doesn't pass.
I don't now what rpm it's revved to, I think they just let it idle.
I had my cat installed about 3 weeks ago, and treated my fuel with BG44K
which should 'clean' my cat and fuel system etc;, so that should help. |
