Probably electrical loading issues.

As for the effectiveness of the lights, if they're clean inside and the lenses are polished, they actually need aiming correctly, otherwise the beam isn't good at all.

the full beams are ok, but during the cold dark winter nights in norfolk driving through a forest very early in the morning or late at night it would be nice for a little extra 'omph' from my lights especially to avoid bloody dear!!!

i'm thinking about running a fused live from the battery to a relay to the bulds and making the relay switchable from the full beam circuit, this should negate the electrical loading issues.

what do you think?

cheers

phil

Not sure with that kind of electrics tbh, i think you'll find it screws up the dip though as the reflectors are based on the filament position, which is different for the other circuit.

What bulbs are you running, i'm pretty impressed with the Osram Nightbreakers in mine, they're nothing like they used to be when i last drove the 4g.

Had my dipped and high's aimed correctly at Honda today, left/right as well as the height so i'll report back to see how much if any difference it made.
It does seem that the accuracy of the aiming will make a large difference looking at the target boxes.

Already using the bulbs, impressed, nice bright output from them, bordering on a blue tinge but otherwise bright white. I'll find out how good the lude 4g lights can be come Monday.

They're pretty good, i've seen better headlights, but compared to some of the vehicles i've been following, much newer ones i might add, they fine/recommended Smile

Alignment was about £15 whilst i was there, though i'm gonna take it back for the high beam as i swear it's waaay too high, even though i saw the alignment and it looked bob on Rolling Eyes
