Welcome Jimmy,
Where abouts in suffolk are you fella?
Umm from memory, you have to put in a H22 from a 5th gen as its OBD2, but a 5th genner will confirm.

Im pretty sure the engines are the same as far as i know, if your swapping UK engine to UK car, or JDM engine to JDM car...
The wiring is the main thing i think - 4th gens work with OBD1 and 5ths with OBD2. Im sure it must have been done before in the past.
Anyone else able to shed some light on this? _________________

Well, quite simply: yes, anything can be done.
But what is your question?
Are you asking: can it be done? If so, yes, ofcourse.
Or, are you asking: is it a straight swap? In which case, no, to a degree.
This question really does depend on your knowledge (or whoever does the engine change). Anything can be done, they are technically the same engines so it will still fix to the same mounts, driveshafts should remain the same etc etc.
In simple - yes, any H22 CAN be put in a 5th gen, but each one (either from a 4th gen, or an accord type R etc) will present different issue either with wiring or something else. So what you need to decide is - are you capable of taking it on?
Does that help? _________________

In reply to your above post - the easiest solution is a 5th gen engine/gearbox/wiring loom/ECU.
BUT! The cheapest solution would be - sell your 2.0 and buy a 2.2.
Everyone buys a 2.0 and then decides to VTEC it, but very few people do. I thought about this when i had mine. I went out a year later and bought a VTEC prelude. _________________
