Hey Sky, best of luck with your repairs. Well done for not taking the easy scrap option. Loving your rope/tree technique!!! Shocked

man i feel stupid....

well extra thanks for the offer then, i'm going to see the possibility of getting something to transport it back home because it wont fit in the prelude... it will certainly fit on it though... whats the chances that you have a scrappers near by?? i could fit the bonnet when i arrive, and then take the busted one to the scrappers?? or i could drive up with no bonnet on...

not quite so sure that last one is a good idea

i'll find out the possibility of borrowing something that it will fit in and let you know..

any chance of some pictures???

Cheers

ahhhh the prelude is regaining its beauty!

special thanks to gripper for being swift and helpful!

so heres some pictures, i got everything in front of me by 3 oclock today, i got everything finished by 8ish, 5 hours it took me, to replace a bumper and light and to attempt to pull out the main bends and creases...

with the bumper off

bent bits which i couldnt get to with bumper on

new light installed... it got dark really quickly!

bumper on!! fits really nicely shows how far my light needs to come out further though...

its got about 20mm to come out futher, but i cant seem to get it to budge any further, even with the tree!
some problems,
the new light shines higher than the other, but by like 10 degrees??
is there that much adjustment in the lights??
and also... for some reason, now my lights closer to the middle, dont turn on on main beam??? they used to! but now they dont, its the one that gets brighter on high beam

any ideas?

Cheers guys and to gripper

Hi mate, you made some good progress then after I left. The light clearly needs to come forward some more, can you see what it is that's preventing it sitting flush with the bumper?

hi gripper

i certainly did get on with it!

its looking good, and the reason its not fitting properly is because of the cross-member still, its not been pulled out enough, i've tried since, but it consists of pulling and creating a tighter angle.

i just dont have the equipment or the knowledge to do that, its going to have to stay that way for a little while as im down in portsmouth for 6 weeks.

however! i do have a question that is quite important, the new light, due to the cross-member not being horizontal to the ground, the light shines into the air, how do you adjust them? i've had a quick look this morning before work, but couldnt see anything that looked like an adjusting screw or anything...

anyone know?? because its slightly against the law i reckon

Cheers
