Hey. Just got my 5th gen the other day and theres a slight problem with the suspension. Basically when i accelerate hard the car veers off to the left and when i lift off it straitens (sp?) up again. From what ive read on here that could be something to do with the wishbones/balljoints?? Any info would be appreciated as i was previousley a vauxhall man and know nothing of hondas. Very Happy

Edit; This is also acompanied with a knock when i lift off.
Thanks for any input. Very Happy

yeah tried that. no noise that can ba associated with a cv joint. The way the car wanders off to the left under hard acceleration suggests to me a suspension problem im just not sure whare to start looking.

Start with the easy stuff and get the tracking checked. Then all you can do is juck the car off take off the wheel and start pulling things to check for play.

Before you start paying the garage , your tyres can do that too. If they're not matching make and model, size and wear amount you'll have one wheel pulling / gripping differently to the other. I've had that recently while I was waiting for a replacement tyre, all sorted now they're matched up.

^^ this was my first thought because the guy said the alloys came off a toyota supra. the tyre sizes are 225/45/17 on the back and 215/45/17 on the front so i know that dont help at all but the reason i suspect suspension is the banging noise that i get when lifting off.

differnt trye sizes dont really matter so long as there the same left to right

i am running 225/45/17 on the front and 235/45/17 on the back, i am going to go for 245 when i gt some new tyres for the back

the ony tine it really is important for same size tyres all round is on 4wd cars

also dont forget on front wheel drive cars u can get torque steer under heavy acceleration

My Prelude doesn't, it is a JDM VTEC 4th. My UK 3rd didn't either. Am I the only one not getting torque steer? I may not be driving hard enough. Embarassed

well i came from a vectra sri into the prelude (good move if i do say so myself Cool ) and theyre more or less on par when it comes to power and the vectra didnt behave the way the lude does. It may well be that a combination of bigger wheels and me not being used to the way the lude drives is whats causing me the problem but im still gona have it checked out anyways. Thanks for all the input so far guys, much appreciated. Very Happy
p.s whats JDM?? (proper noob quiestion) Embarassed

The lude (2.0L) is 133BHP roughly yeah, i think he meant you had a 2.2L VTEC. They are definately up and above the vectra Laughing
