Hello all Very Happy

My name is Gareth & last night I picked up my G5 manual VTi. It's an R-plate '97 but I'm looking for more information on it, however I'm quite unfamilier with Jap talk! I'm guessing it's just a UK-spec car but something thats confused me are the red Honda badges.... I thought perhaps that might suggest it was imported but I guess any previous owner could of stuck them on Confused

Anyhow, picked it up last night after a 70 mile drive, gave it a quick jet wash & took a quick snap mainly for Facebook purposes (otherwise I'll get constant calls of "what does it look like" lol)

Here she is....

The only thing thats not working is the 4WS. Previous owner reckons he hit a pot-hole in the road, enquired at his local Honda dealer & they said it just needs re-setting @ the cost of £50. However, I've been reading through the common problem section of this board & notice a little trick involving a paper clip Laughing Not sure where to find the bit I need to short out though so if anyone could advise that would be great.

One thing I'm not so keen on is the lightness of the steering, particuarly at higher speeds - ideally would like more feedback/feel but I guess this is something I will have to adapt to.

Anyhow, once I've given her a proper clean up I'll get some more pics done & post up in the relivent section.

This is actually my second VTi, the first one I bought 2 years ago but the auto gearbox went tits up a few miles after I'd bought it! so I didn't even get chance to drive it properly. All the quotes to repair it were silly so I sold it for spares. I always said if I buy another it will be a manual.... so here I am Laughing

Like the site chaps, looks like a real gold mine of information!

G

Yeah, I thought £50 was a tad steep for 5 mins work!

I don't know if any of you are familier with my mates car (or old car, don't know if he still has it). I know he's got a Supra TT now, he was running both at one time.

Heres a pic I found of it on the internet. Familier..?

Thanks people Very Happy

Yes that is a real numberplate! I need to catch up with him actually, but pretty sure he's sold the car on. He had it about 4/5 years though, would be surpised if no-one recognises it.

@ Cheggers - Thats ok. I'm going to give it a go later today so fingers crossed. Cheers
