Today I bought 4 new tyres (Tracmax I think) 205/50/17's.
I did have 205/40/17's on but I felt that the gap between the wheel arch and tyre was too big so decide to go for 50 profiles instead. I think they look much better and have been trying to find pictures of 4G preludes with different size tyres all day and was wondering if anybody had any pictures of theirs and what sizes you guy have : ) |

Motegis: 17 x 7 +55
OEM recommendation is 215/45 x 17, so you're missing either side of the mark! _________________ Nick

4G preludes stock wheel size will be different than the 5G, and there are two sizes of wheel for the 5G. My old 97-98 lude had the stock blades (205/50/16), my current 99-01 had the "motegi" wheel (215/45/17).
The stock 4th gen will be something like 205/55/15 ? _________________

I have 17" 5zigen's on mine with 205/45/17 at the moment, replacing them with 15" with 205/50/15 very soon though. |

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, the only significant difference in suspension between the 4 & 5 is the 5-stud hubs on the 5G.
Whilst a set of Motegis might seem an expedient solution for the 4G, they won't actually fit!
But as others have alluded to, the dimensions ought to work wonderfully in principle! _________________ Nick

Currently running 17x7 with 225/45's on my 4th Gen but they rub when hitting bumpy roads and bottoming out was going to go down to 215/40 or 205/40 but was told I might not be able to run a staggered fitment due to the 4WS?
Is this the case and has anyone had similar issues? |
