There have been a number of discussions on here recently about the value of a Prelude these days and whether or not they are "worth" spending good money on.
I think most of you know where I stand on that argument - but for those that don't, take a look at this and tell me that this guy wasted his time and money !! or that his car wasn't worth it !!
Let this or any one of our own Project threads be your inspiration to keep the Prelude alive

Now for those that break up their cars because it needs a new clutch / cambelt / headgasket / headlamp bulb or whatever..... go and hang your heads in shame |

Finally Ratty hopefully i'll get to see it before i leave.
Just realised that car above is actually a kind of pearl white, it looks grey, silver and white depending on the angle and light source.
It's a very, very nice colour _________________

That's the spirit guys
I came across it (no pun intended) while having a rare browse at what the 'merkins were up to with the Ludes these days.... got hooked by his thread and fell in love with the finished article.
Just had to share if for no other reason than to give some inspiration to any of us over here that are feeling a bit down about their present Lude situation.
I absolutely love the simple clean and uncluttered lines of this car, great paint, great attention to detail and above anything else I love the fact that he decided to go down the repair and improve route rather than take the insurance money and run.
As much as I can understand that people find it hard to justify certain expenses that occur in running older cars what I cannot understand is the ritual ripping apart of perfectly serviceable cars because they have a fault that the owner either isn't prepared to fix or can't be bothered to find the fault.
I think the biggest issue with Preludes (amongst others) is that whilst the cars are extremely cheap to buy, new owners don't look at the big picture before purchasing. Preludes are not a cheap car to keep and maintain properly and of course as they get neglected they get even more expensive to fix.....classic catch 22
Of course we all need some help with 2nd hand parts from time to time...god knows some things are just too expensive to buy new from Honda or are actually just not available anymore but I'd much sooner know that the parts came from an unrepairable Lude than from one that simply hadn't sold for a couple of weeks at the sellers asking price.
Keep the faith, have a read of some of the good projects going on on our own forum, have some patience, give it a go yourself if money is tight. There are plenty of people on here willing to lend a hand even if it is only with advice, but most importantly....don't give up
BTW - Dave, if you read the thread all the way through you'd see I was right about RHD Ludes fetching good money in the States, most are JDM so being a UKDM car will make yours even rarer
BTW2
Yeah apparantly it's a Lexus colour with additional pearl and extra clearcoat. I love it
BTW3
Talking of inspiration - I finally got them new nostrils fitted to my Green Lude yesterday, also fitted that carbon rad panely that used to live on the race car and not only that I gave it another wash and took some pics
Still need to paint the wheels though as they are a disgrace |

Yes, this is very true. There is a guy on Prelude Power who is currently working on a RHD conversion for his 5th gen because it is cheaper to convert than to find, buy and import a RHD Prelude.
Combine this with the fact that 4ths are rare(ish) out there too, for some reason there are more 2nd, 3rd and 5th gens than anything else.
Preludes are fairly expensive as they are anyways out there, so an immaculate RHD version like yours Dave will be worth a small fortune _________________

Not that he's likely to sell it of course !!
Odd don't you think that the one Prelude that was designed by a Californian design house is the one that seems to be rarest in the States |

Heh, yea, that's true, but still, the Prelude wasn't really a right market in the states from why my mates say. They like small 2 seater coupes, and large 4 seater coupes, but not a fan of 2+2s which no matter what anyone says, is what a Prelude is really!!
But if it was designed by a Cali designer, why oh why did they not design it to be RWD!! My only flaw on the 4th gen lude, which I aim to correct one day _________________

I think you mean 2+ 2halves
I guess you've all seen the original design concepts?
Just in case
