classy install, very nice

was thinking of the spare wheel idea too, but is the enclosure quite shallow?

Thanks for your comments.

Yes the Enclosure is reasonably shallow but there are a lot of ways to overcome this. PM me or give me a call sometime 0777 333 666 2 and I will explain what you can do .

Will the adapter plates sit in the original holes? What about the weather shielding on the stock speakers?

Ditch the wather shielding on the stock stuff and get some reticulated foam. Its acoustically transparent and protects against the elements.

Next time you add more deadening put it on the same panal as the speakers as that is the panel which will resonate the most. Also you can keep all wires together with no issues. Its a big fat falicy about cables interfering but sometimes its neater keeping them separate.. If your grounding is good there wont be any issues.

But Nice sub install. Thats where im putting mine, and the 4 amps. Cool

Apologies for the thread hijack Embarassed

Will the stock shielding work on the new speakers and can i use the stock plugs at all?
I don't care about a really good stereo system, i just want to fix the very occasional interference/white noise i hear through the front speakers. I assume that's the speakers failing?

Very speaker dependant fitment wise. Normally its easier to make a baffle to suit the speaker and bolt it do the door. This will give the best mounting (better than stock plastic) and would work well of the headunit.

The picture of the sound deadening only shows part of the door that had been done, it was just to give people a example.

With reference to your statement of running all cables being run together as 'ok' I made my comment of running them seperately from my own experience of being involved in the car Audio game for over 20 years.

Yes sometimes you can get away with it , but I have always found that prevention is better than cure.

And yes you are 100% right a good earth in any audio system is so important.

BTW What amps you running in your car ?
