They should go off after a short period of time after closing the door, say 10-20 seconds. So maybe wait a bit longer before re-opening the door.

Does the light around the ignition key work?

Best wishes, Colin

Sorry, we're talking at cross-purposes.

The ones in the door (aka puddle lights, courtesy lights, etc) should go out when the door closes. If they don't come on, check that the interior (overhead) courtesy light comes on when you open the door in case switch in the door jamb isn't working. Failing that, replace the bulbs (the perspex cover pries off, but be very gentle as it can shatter).

Best wishes, Colin

Okay, that's a new one on me. I thought you were referring to the door lights that are wired to the courtesy light in the ceiling. Sorry for the confusion.

Can you post up some pics?

Best wishes, Colin

The light only has two wires going in, so it's on/off with the ignition light not with the doors as per the courtesy light. Someone tried to modify the one on the driver's side but without success.

The problem Rob has is that someone used a piece of parking pole loom to try to hook them up and connected only one light to a permanent 12v feed. I can wire the lights in to the ignition circuit quite easily, but having them come on as per the courtesy light will be harder.

Best wishes, Colin
