PUK discount would be for a little bundle, but i need to know what kind of bundle(s) to put together.

Auto wash and Auto balm?

Surfex along with the above?

Ferrosol and Surfex?

Have a look through their products and see what would make a good little bundle and i can get some prices for us on those.

My list;
    Dynax UB x 2 litres
    Dynax S50 x 2 aerosols
    Surfex HD x 1
    Electrox x 1

I still haven't got round to ordering these yet because of the Dynax UB not being available from their website.

Any discount would be great! Wink

I couldn't wait Rolling Eyes so I recently ordered their

consisting of:
    - Dynax S50 (2 x 750ml)
    - Surfex HD (1 x 5 litre)
    - Ferrosol (1 x 500ml)
    - Hydrate 80 (1 x 500ml)

as well as 500g of Deox gel.

I haven't yet used any of their stuff but how about Deox gel and Hydrate 80 together as a rust removal and protection bundle?

If I get on with what I've bought I might go back for more of those two. Smile

Hmmm - just gone back through the thread to refresh my memory - I'd prob be after the Dynax UB too.

Hydrate 80 and Deox are not products you'd use together under 99% of conditions, so that's not a good pack Wink

More suggestions welcomed though Smile

Thanks, i only hope it's of use to people out there Smile

Again, any tips wanted, questions, techniques etc, feel free to ask away, i just wish more people did what they can to help stop rust instead of waiting until a bodyshop can look at it when it's gone too far.

So I've been inspired to tackle some rust while my front suspension is in bits. I'm going to Hydrate 80 / paint / Dynax the arches and suspension arms.

People keep referring to a hard topcoat over the Hydrate 80 - what would you recommend? I was thinking some Hammerite metal paint seeing as it's going to be coated with wax as well - or is the paint only necessary for cosmetic purposes?

I'd recommend anything other than hammerite. I treated a power steering cooler about 1 year ago with Hammerite Kurust and then Hammerite black.

It's been inside most of the time, never driven on the road and there are bits of paint that have flecked off and it's dry rusty underneath Rolling Eyes

Try top coating it with BH Electrox, that's a hard top coat.

I'm not sure I understand why I'd use Electrox over Hydrate 80? They seem to serve the same purpose - making a good finish on the steel itself which can then be overcoated, unless I've completely missed the point?

Electrox is a very high zinc content rust preventative paint.

If you're looking at a more short term, easier way of dealing with the rust, or just dealing with a part that's designed hard use (suspension arms) then Hydrate80 is fine.

If you want more permanent then use Deox to completely remove the rust and protect with Electrox.

You can of course just use electrox straight on cleaned rust like other rust preventative paints.

Rust converters, rather that removers, need top coating, though arguably the Hydrate is a far better performing than most others and will stand longer before being top coated.

Having real difficulty with Deox Gel. Its removes the large areas of rust fine but on the small patches it doesn't do much. Id still recommend it to remove large areas. (did my heatshields with good results).

But on my suspension knuckles and wishbones and small patches of rust on the chassis im doing the following.

- good wire brush over the rust to remove access material
- clean with Surfex HD
- Hydrate 80
- Electox
- Dynax UB

That doesn't make much sense, the area of rust doesn't matter, it's how deep it is. Suspension knuckles will be quite embedded, it's the cast nature.

Deox gel isn't ideal, Deox C bath is, you'll need to keep applying the gel until it's cleared the rust, it will work, it's just slower with heavier rust. Apply it thicker to deal with more rust in one go.
