OK, ive had a long line of japanese imports, tonnes of Nissans and Hondas - but I keep getting bored. However, I'm constantly dissapointed that I can never keep and finish a project... Oddly enough Ive fallen in love with this prelude, even though its probably the worst condition car I've bought! Relatively rust free, but the engine needs work and the gearbox and clutch are all knackered! Had no MOT, no TAX and still paid 600 for it
Anyway, never fear, I knew the previous owner and I remember once having a run in with an R34 GTT in it and the prelude put car lengths on it.. so I had a sneaking suspision that it was faster than the average prelude, hence me pushing for the sale. So now I have a car I want to sort out head-to-toe!
I sourced a somewhat marmite valuesports type 2 spoiler from jdm land! Then ridded the clear indicators for orange original items as I prefer the looks. Im planning to replace the horrid blue side indicators for standard orange items aswell.
Ive never been a fan of 17's on preludes and always thought 16's sat slightly better in the arches.... so decided to swap my oz ultraleggeras for some rota grids (TE37 replicas).
I threw the awful blue honda badges in the bin and ordered some red replacements (ok some might think it chavvy, but I think it fits well on the car!)
The only thing left to sort on the bodywork now is the crease infront of the rear nearside light which the previous owner achieved with a wooden post.
Now Im planning to move to the interior.. My ideas are some black and red leather s2000 seats, s2000 guages, graphite DC2 gearknob, black leather gaiter with red stitching and a momo black competition steering wheel

Very nice lude mate. Definitely right to get rid of the blue side indicators though! Both sets of wheels look good - guess it depends what look you are after. Think the amber front indicators look good on black ludes. The spoiler really suits the car too. |

Sadly the prelude has been slow on the uptake due to lack of funds.. But fear not, better mods will be on the way very soon!
Heres the updated plans:
Im very close to getting a set of BBS LM's in 17" (just taking a while to get hold of the darned things, looks like itll be an adapter job) as I figure after owning tonnes of wheels you may as well spend the money and get some wheels you will really like for a long time!
Finishing off my euro bubble kit:
I have a front lip, but need to get some sides and rear when money is free!
Full engine bay makeover:
Started this already, doing a full yank-style wire tuck, removing Cruise control, AC and possibly PAS, smoothing rocker cover (planning a deep burgundy pearl sprayover) and getting a kevlar spark cover, along with a nice oil cap for starters.
Interior:
After tossing it over in my mind, I've decided on a black with yellow stitch finish on the inside of my lude. Something not usually done to my knowledge, but getting a leather stitched gear gaitor, handbrake gaitor, Recaro Speeds black/yellow stitch, and not much else, trying to keep it simple but sporty.
Thats about it really short of a nice set of coilovers, again when money is spare. I had a shunt in the rear recently due to a mates sister looking at herself in the rear view instead of my car, but as shes very nice I've let her off with it, and set about fixing it myself, so far its looking good with only one bit of rear 1/4 panel damage to sort - but that'll be a bodyshop job.
So, anybody got 10k to lend me so I can get all this done?? |

Thanks
Well Today I have been mostly:
aligning my clutch. The alignment tool couldnt give me a dead centre, so we'll have to wait and see how close it was!
Also, spared an hour or two to do this:
I'll carry on the prep work today, thinking a very deep purple to orange flip with a carbon/kevlar sparkplug cover |
