Hi chaps

I was just wondering if anyone knows the speaker sizes I need to get for front in and rear in the 5G prelude, just bought a new stereo and fancy upgrading the speakers

I just want them to be direct bolt in replacements

Happy to receive recomendations too but nothing too pricey, not building a mega system just something that will sound nice off my standard head unit

Thanks

The rears are 6x9. If the speakers are too deep they can catch the boot torsion bars.

Thanks fellas

Any particular brands shallow enough to fit the rears directly? I'll see if I can measure up tomorrow

Just just noticed Infinity, I fancy some Pioneer ones so hoping they will fit

My infinity reference 6x9's fit no problems.

Most brands should fit, but there are no guarantees.

How did you stop them catching on the torsion bars, when I close my boot the torsion bars press against the magnet on both sides, been trying to sort it for ages boot doesnt seem to be any way round it!

I found that Kenwood KFC 1666s dropped directly into the front doors with a loom converter and give an instant sharpening of the sound quality.

Done that to the S2000 and 'Lude.

No idea why you're trying to up-rate the rear speakers, the stock's are fine. Upgrade the fronts if you must, they'll give you the most improvement for the cash.

I have uprated the fronts, firstly with SOny's but they had to go back and now I have some custom fitted 6.5" Pioneers which sound awesome but need to go back AGAIN because my passenger side door handle on the interior is not hooked up Mad Mad Mad

Anyone know how to sort it so I dont have to go back?

i run infinity 6X9's through an amp and the differance is night and day. i tend to think all stock speakers are pretty lame. but dont do anything in life without music pretty much so i like good loud music with no distorsion or rattles. think upgrading the sound system in any car is always a must. for me. just need to do my front speakers and cable and i will be happy. Cool
