Ok I'll start off for appologising that this isn't a Prelude build. But I hope you guys will forgive me since my Civic will be receiving an H22 heart transplant Wink This is copied over from civiclife.net so the usernames in the first pics make no sense except mine Very Happy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a month or so of having an H22A sitting on my drive looking forlorn all wrapped in bin bags, work has finally begun on Project H-Bomb Very Happy

So let's Meet the team.

First step was a drive into Sheffield to pick up the engine crane from HSS. I was very relieved to find that it did fit in the back of my car but soon became annoyed as Tom Tom turned into a complete retard on the return journey and sent me on a 10 minute drive around a council estate for no apparent reason.

Once back at my house we got the engine up on the crane and wheeled it round into the garage so work could begin

Work then began stripping it down to just the block and head. After a lot of headscratching, confusion and swearing, the gearbox was finally removed using two blocks of wood and two ruddy great hammers Very Happy

Once the gearbox and clutch had been removed we could finally get it on the stand, and there was much rejoicing.

Yeah baby!

Off with the Intake Mani.

Remember kids, always sort and label your bolts. Wink

After many hours, sweaty brows, numerous bouts of swearing, even more bouts of laughter and I have to say a s#!t load of fun, The block and head were nude and ready for a damn good clean.

Dirty Jazz Hands!

Next up: Stripping the block and head and saving up for some performance goodies Very Happy

Cheers guys, yes fun is the main theme of the project. There's loads of interesting builds out there but I wanna inject a little entertainment into the proceedings Laughing

UPDATE:

Time for some strippers!!!

Unfortunately for you lot it's just us fellas again, stripping the block.

Apart from *crack* "what was that?" things went pretty smoothly. The crack we thought I had made in the block, due to my brutish horse like strength of course, turned out to be a crack in the water pump which I'm buying a new one of anyway so crisis was averted. phew Very Happy

So it was off with the rocker cover and off with the camshafts.

Then the mighty long bar was required to undo the 10 bolts holding the head on. My right arm and shoulder are gunna be stiff tomorrow as I was certain a few of these were screwed in by Geoff Capes (

for you younger viewers) One thing I am not certain of is why I look half hispanic, half oriental in the following pic.

WTF is going on with my face? I look like a hairy melon with eyes ffs.

It was at this point John got WD and sprayed the flywheel bolts. Well whatever turns you on you freak!

A few more bits were taken off the block, Oil pump, dipstick etc and after a tidyup ended up with an almost stripped engine

Coming up on the next episode....

....John meets his evil twin and an epic power struggle ensues....

....Ed finally finds his dream woman....down the back of the sofa.....

....And Drew fights off an evil crime syndicate using a drinking straw, a pack of balloons and a paper clip

Haha I like the format of your build thread.. you should showcase it via the medium of video, like half an hour episodes at around 5.30pm mon - fri Razz

Good stuff though, my mates putting a H22 in his civic in the coming weeks too, I know he'll be watching this thread with interest..

Grrrrrr beasty!!! Laughing

Now it looks like this...

Just fitted EP3 Type R interior last week so I'll get some pics up of that when the weather brightens up Rolling Eyes

Update

I cleaned up the rocker cover

Looking forward to painting that badboy :plot:

Johnboy 'n' Ed came round again for more fun and games....I mean serious graft.

I picked Johnty up from work (his stupid Leon is still not fixed yet, how long's it been Johnbon? 2 and a half friggin years) and we pootled off to Halfrauds so John could whack off to the shiny tools and buy a breaker bar. He loves it.

While myself and Johnaldo were waiting for Ed to turn up we decided to set about stripping the head. After half an hour or so we had achieved precicely nothing. Actually that's not strictly true, we had managed to pull off some killer Machine Head riffs on our air guitars. So on to plan B, stripping the block.

Off came the side plate and out popped the balancer shafts with alarming ease. They didn't even put up a fight, very dissapointing . It was at this point I turned into a ninja.

Once I had defeated the Black Guard and rescued the emperors daughter from the evil Kung-Fu priest Ed turned up and work began in ernest. The flywheel which had previously defeated John on 33 separate occasions was first to feel the mighty force of the breaker bar and was duly removed. I celebrated this by becoming Wimbledon Ladies Champion.

Now we could attack the crank and pistons. Off with the bearings.

And out with the pistons

John gently took the shaft in his hands as always

Et voila! the block was now completely stripped

Once more, great fun was had and much work was completed. Cheers to John and Ed for their continued support and hard work, without them this project would not have been possible (I think I might cry) Razz

Unfortunately all the fun and sense of accomplishment was ruined when Ed decided to take a s#!t in my gearbox and declare all Hondas to be "a bit rubbish" For this blasphemy he was punished.

Coming up on the Next Episode!!!

Quincy finds evidence that Ed is actually the one who is "a bit rubbish"
