14.5 seconds 1/4 mile recorded at the Pod
96mph terminal speed
All motor no NOS or Turbo and Goodyear Eagle F1 GDS3 195/50/15 tyres
Clutch was playing up as the mainshaft was leaking oil onto the drive plate but that kind of acted as traction control for the tyres!!
Gearbox custom hybrid special combining Teg gears and Lude gears
AP pressure plate and Blue print drive plate with heavily lightened stock flywheel
With new re-built gearbox and higher spec engine hoping to reach into high 13's with semi slicks _________________ Eat my unburnt fuel!! 200bhp 2.0l SOHC 12 valve Webered beast. Top speed God only knows or the police as the speedo only goes to 140mph. 1/4mile 14.5seconds flat terminal speed 96mph at santa pod. |

Nice time fella.
Just out of interest, what gears are you using for the gearbox build with what ratios? Just interested as i'm in the process of having mine done.

Running Lude gears for 1st and 2nd then Teg for 3-5th much shorter than the lude's as the engines rev a lot higher, really need an LSD though only option is OPM or Phantom grip for my box both of which are a clutch type.
Top speed is around 145mph with the teg and often use 4th at the end of the 1/4. Lude 5th gear has potential top speed of around 160-165 if i can get it to rev high enough!!
Also won't fit yours as it's for Old School lude 1985 vintage same decade for the teg as well a lot of honda parts were interchangeable back then where as a lot of stuff isn't now although alot of new engine parts can be fitted to the older engines ironicaly!!! _________________ Eat my unburnt fuel!! 200bhp 2.0l SOHC 12 valve Webered beast. I found that if i didnt use 4th, my terminal speed was about 5-6mph lower. Thats on a stock lude box. _________________ This season I have mostly been having Successful Dealings with:

2 things to solve the 4th gear issue, make the engine rev quicker more power and torque, or rev higher meatier cams, trouble with changing up is that your loosing time changing gear so although your terminal speed might be up at this small a difference it could still be faster keeping it in the gear unless it's really got nothing left in 3rd for too long then you have to go up a gear, or sometimes i've found it better to go up the box sooner rather than thrashing it out in everygear for as long as possible.
e.g if engine can pull well to 8kpm 1st, 2nd, 3rd i'll shift up at 7krpm for first two then hit third as soon as possible then up to 4th at 7.5krpm to get the most out of 3rd but still have a reasonable amount of time to run in 4th or a good time. Other options are to stick original Prelude box in which 3rd has the ability to run upto 105mph but it's a big jump from 2nd to 3rd and if the engine hasn't got the low end pull and powerband to pull it threw you can loose a few tenghts of a second from picking back up the revs again. Really ideally a slightly taller 2nd gear would be better 1st is good for 40mph but 2nd is around 70mph then 3rd is 95mph 4th 120mph and 5th 140mph this is with the 272 degree cam the 285 degree add 5mph too all of those numbers as revs another 500rpm on top. Never tried the 285 cam on the drag strip so maybe thats the answer but wil have to wait till i've built the new engine!!
P.S. my new Lude will be at Santapod next Saturday if anyone is going up there give us a shout you can all have a blast from the past in my lude!! _________________ Eat my unburnt fuel!! 200bhp 2.0l SOHC 12 valve Webered beast. Comments:
I had issues with the car which probably slowed the time down a bit. Headgasket is going, NSR caliper binding, excessive negative camber, nitrous halfway empty with no bottle heater . I'll be back soon to run the car in 100% healthy condition and the nitrous system working efficiently.
