|
Hub did manage to sort out my 'loose' foglight, intergrating it in gap.
But now my car has been poorly for a month Two 02 sensors later and the engine warning light still comes on at high speed.... We are going to try a Bosch one next....
....but if that fails to cure my cars ills...it'll be time for a replacement Lude.
So, yesterday I grabbed what could be the last opportunity for a pic of it, and made Damon Hill stand out in the pissing rain.....

Apparently, the Bosch ones are prone to fail.
You'd be better off getting an NTK (NGK) one.
Part number here;

Great picture with Damon. Hasn't he gone grey? _________________

Failing to plan is planning to fail. |

Thanks Push...I have told hub about Bosch, and phoned NTK uk. They said, ring up Honda for the part number for the 02 sensor, which was then cross referenced with NTK who came up with this:
OZA660-EE18
Its for a Honda Coupe....but we're going to try it....
Yes, Damon is rather grey but he is 50!! And, whilst I'm happy to dye my hair all the time to keep old age at bay, I didn't think he would be happy if I'd presented him with a box of 'Just for Men'.....

How did you get to meet Damon? Do you know him personally or something?!
Awesome whichever!
Keep us updated throughout the ongoing problem, im pretty sure the new sensor will fix it, but if not, im 100% sure WE as preludeUK could help you diagnose and fix it too. This forum is wonderful for alot of reasons, especially advice _________________

Yeah, I was all set to buy that....but hub for a change is going against your word (he usually likes what you have to say) and is going by the advice from the chap at NTK technical dept..... |

If NTK tech are saying use that, then do so, it's their product That product code is possibly a states code anyway, i only used their site to find it. |
Monday was the arrival of my new NTK lambda sensor from the Happy Motorist:

Where was this link 2 weeks ago when I was searching for one? Anyway, I got a generic one for £60 fitted inc. VAT and I've added that link to my favourites. _________________ My Car, Alphanumerically: 1992 JDM BB1 2.2 Si VTEC 2.2 DOHC with M2B4 LSD and 4WS in NH-552M. |

Hub made a major error when sealing the rocker cover with sillicone sealant, 2 months ago. The next journey, engine warning light came on & my car staggered home, as the 02 sensor had failed.
We bought a new one, but it failed as soon as I used it.
We purchased another one & in the meantime he fixed the 4WS (which didn't work if my wheels weren't straight when I parked), a new solenoid & transistor for the IAB.
It appears the valve may have been stuck for the 4 years we have had the Lude!! Maybe why its had trouble going into Vtec....
Anyhooo...failure again with the sensor....then it dawns on hub that the oil going round my car is still contaminated! So, before the new NTK sensor is fitted, he replaced & flushed 3 more times....
So, clean oil and new sensor...hurrah....no warning lights....
but this month has been pretty expensive.....
