...This is my gorgeous, and anyone driving on the M5 will recognise it...it is a Black (okay, its says Grey on my V5) J-reg import with stars on it...yes, very girly.....in particular the star-shaped tail-pipe..

...which isn't as kinky as it sounds!!... Surprised

Its a 4th Gen Prelude 2.2 vtec which I bought on my birthday 2 years ago, off Ebay. Best present EVER....though, admittedly it was broken and we had to do a 300 mile round trip to fetch back on a trailer.

Two weeks were taken to fix it, and since then its been lovely, except 6 months ago when the cambelt failed TWICE within 4 months... Sad

Despite various comments from onlookers that the car was buggered, as I sat waiting to be towed, I'm delighted its been robust and recovered after such hiccups...anyone else had cambelt difficulties?

I would love to have flip paint and new alloys, but my husband won't let me....not even allowing me to have Pirelli tyres when they needed replacing....booo....
Sad

I'm not sure whether to take it on a track day or not, and of course I've never seen the V-tech kick in, as it has been treated a lot better than my last car, a Toyota Corolla which I thrashed by always aiming for 6000 revs! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Sorry about the state of the engine, but had to upload pic so that everyone can see it is a Vtec that appears to have been under used!! Sorry guys...I will try harder!!

I wouldn't click on the pics, as they come out HUGE...sorry...

And UPDATE!! Hubby demonstrated the Vtec to me today - several times - but sincere apologies guys, but I didn't get very excited by it... Sad Laughing

Very nice JDM Prelude and I do like the tail-pipe, very individual.
Why do you say you've never seen the v-tec kick in?
Are you afraid of blowing the engine up?
It's a Honda = bullet-proof engine.

Try it, go on, just once.
4500-5000 revs in 3rd once the engines warmed up. hate-devil

The Prelude is in excellent nick, had some pretty good previous owners and the best I'd seen whilst I was looking around! Its had bubbling on the wheel arches and sun roof, but they have been sanded down and painted...I polish it every few months, when I don't have any work... Very Happy

Thank you kindly. Cool ....I will upload a better pic of my car's behind later.. Shocked

The V-tech never seems to kick in, despite going from a standing start at traffic lights....however, that may be cos I've not started on a decent straight road?

So, in 3rd, with the Sport Mode on too?

...I get a lot of people pointing at it, and most seem to chuckle! It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to make, but not by me! Laughing Embarassed

Yeah, its def a Vtech, but I will take a photo of engine and upload it later. I have apparently got to 5000 rev once or twice, but not enough for it to kick in.

Is my difficulty because its an auto? Sad
