Well, i guess i am now, Stan's yer man, he started me off in it.
I've always liked cleaning the car properly, so always plenty of water on when sponging it off, took two buckets to wash the car with etc.
However, very early this year, i ended up seeing a detailing section of some website (possibly detailingworld) and seeing a poll, what do you wash your car with.
It listed a whole bunch of wash mitts and a jumbo sponge. Not really reading it, i just scrolled down and caught a post;
"Come on, own up, who voted for jumbo sponge!"
Scrolled back up again as i'd no idea what else and saw the one vote and everyone else using some sort of mitt.
Only then did it start occuring to me with further reading, how bad a sponge is and why people don't/shouldn't use them anymore!
So, off to Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! | and with Stan's help, got the right bits (that you see in the first pic)
Best and most surprising upgrades were how much better the shampoo and washmitt were, less than a bucket to do the same car now! and the drying towels? best invention ever, chamois leathers are worse by far than the sponge on paintwork and i couldn't believe how quickly the car was dry and with such little effort using the drying towels.
Just got the extra stuff in the second pic this week, but i'm on hols till august essentially
and won't get chance to try them till then
However, with the stuff from the first pic and the XXX hardcore wax from the second, i still got this finish on the 3g;
What do you use, shiny? I'm sure Stan will be along soon with his garage full of shinying gear _________________

Here's my stuff.
Pressure washer etc
Clean & dirty Microfibres
Shampoo, snowfoam, last touch, apc, wheel cleaners, mitt, brushes etc
Polish, clay, waxes and other bits & bobs..
And don't forget, god invented SNOW FOAM!
So much more i want, but it can become an expensive pastime! _________________

That's quite a collection there, very nice and you're telling me, that last batch of stuff cost me £80!! Although it has to be said, the majority of that was made up with a US gallon of wash and gloss and the super fancy special occasion only, 5050 wax.
Otherwise, it's not *too* bad on costs.
As for snowfoam, i'm yet to be convinced, i'm not even really that sure what it is! _________________

From my understanding, you coat your car in the snowfoam (you can get the attachments for pressure washers and normal hoses) then leave it for 5 mins (bit like soaking your washing up in the bowl)
After that, wash it off with the hose, don't scrub it yet, just wash it all off. Now what i understand from this, is it will lift most of the crap off, so when you do get round to it with your washmitt there is less crap on the paintwork and again, less likely to put whirl marks into it.
I'm sure Stan will correct me where i'm wrong, but i think thats the general gist of it, but yet to do this myself. _________________ Traded with;

I don't use it on visible parts of the car, I tend to use it on things like door shuts etc when I need to clean and protect in one go (to save time really), so I wouldn't say it was a great wax by any means, but it does the job for those areas.
The best thing about it is probably the fact it smells like bubblegum (similar to Nattys) _________________
