It is an honour for your praise Rash - if it weren't for you I wouldn't have a couple of damn fine parts on her.
Good to see you on here, it's been a while.
Thirst for the mugen is strong in this one it is! Would love some wheels to really finish her off nicely but no money spare for that right now - one day. My build is a slowly but surely kinda attitude.
Cheers,
Rob

Craig Shiraz who runs it was a pleasure to meet and run through many things with various ECU's, sorting out IAB control and chatting all things Honda while completing as few different runs.
He's based in Llandow just past Cardiff and has a nice spanking new setup there. Very relaxed and easy-going, just what you want.
Anyway onto the goods. Well she's healthy, which is nice.
Three runs on the printout:
1) P28 chipped ECU
2) P13 standard ECU without the IAB's running (i.e. open all the time)
3) P13 standard ECU with IAB's connected
Was hoping for a 4th run with the P28 and the IAB's running but my spare ECU's were missing one component to add to the P28 to get it to control the IAB's. So that will wait for the next run which I hope will have me decat and AEM fuel filter fitted by then.
Runs were done on my UKDM (183bhp) H22 with only real engine mods being catback exhaust, induction kit, plugs and leads.
I'll let you all digest the graphs and that waffle a little after:
So overall the P13 running as normal with IAB's was making healthy power up to the JDM's standard which was nice indeed from a UKDM base.
The P28 pushed this to an impressive 204.7bhp, so chuffed to bits and gives me a nice healthy base to start further mods.
Although the P28 had a real rich spike at around 5-5.5k so it needs remapping to smooth that out, but might be something to do with the IAB's??? Also noted, the P13 seems to run very lean. Is this normal people? If not any suggestions what could be causing it?
The comparison of the IAB's on the P13 was for clarification TBH + would give me an idea of what I might expect with the P28 IAB's enabled once we have the final component which needs to be ordered.
It clarifies that suggested 'mods' like this link:

Simply do not help. Honda has clearly put alot of engineering into these engines and it serves a good purpose. We overlaid the two torque plots for the two P13 runs to show you all just how important they are:
The clear drop in torque is substantial. If you compare the drop against the P28 torque you see a clear similarity, so I'm hoping once the IAB components are installed in the P28 this part of the graph should match closer to the P13 with IAB line. TBH I really noticed this at Santapod a few weeks back at Japshow. The vids of me I posted on here shows me seriously lagging off the line against stkprelude. I know his has had a good tune with an AEM from Performance Autoworks but it was a BIIIIIG difference.
So onwards and upwards, overall I'm over the moon on the peak figures and the engine seems healthy. Just need to check the P13 lean AFR's with you guys as I'll run this day to day no doubt and save the P28 for track/strip time. Hope to get a specific tune done soon from Craig at Overboost.
Any comments welcome guys. Will be sending Craig the link if anyone wants some technical stuff answered.
Got some pics and a vid of me on the rollers to upload also when I get 5 minutes.

good work, nice bit of experimenting with the IAB's
Interested in what components you are using for the IAB control in the p28, I have a spare ecu from a civic (p28) are you just using some kind of writable chip that you socketed inside?
stk prelude would also have no IAB's right? since he was running the aem ecu which I thought had no IAB control.

Very interesting set of graphs, and also the clearest dyno graphs i've ever seen, i can actually make sense of them. It's almost as if they've been designed for real info rather than the local chav wanting "oww much powa dus it maek mistur!!!"

yes mate that's true... i think PA said they bypassed it or something. not to sure what exactly as I'm no mechanic but had a little word and they said my torque will be down a little but when i get to 3K Rpm shes back to normal place then waaaaaaaay better as you can see on my profile page.. so wasn't too worried as she'll be revving higher then that anyway
Nucleustylz lude you got some good results there hope we meet up soon for a good chat again

i think once the p28 chip has been mapped for the lude u will find u will get better torque lower down plus a few more hp higher up as it runs lean from 4 k onwards,
is it the standard map on the p28 as thats really designed for a 1.8 engine hence why not enough fuel for the higher displacment engine
Lude-Dude: The P28 has been socketed and includes a datalogging port also. It was originally tuned using Crome on another Prelude, which is why I wanted to get it dyno'd to see if the map was any good for my lude. Looks like stk prelude has answered your Q on the IAB's, but his has clearly been mapped better for use without them.
There are a small number of components required to enable IAB control on the P28. For the full info, check out

.
If you have a spare P28, Craig at Gotboost can install everything to get it mapped on Crome for your lude. Of course you'd need an OBDII to OBD1 harness of course.
MaDMaXX: Yep, Craig does a good service and is very helpful to run through the technical side of things.
stk prelude: Cheers bud, yeah hopefully meet up again soon, maybe JAE or Japshow Finale?
njord: As said it has been mapped for a lude. Not stupid enough to run an actual P28 map meant for a Civic! Of course as I said at the bottom it isn't perfect for my car so will be tweaked once the IAB bits have been installed. The P13 is back for now till Craig has the last component, especially as the mpg is sky high at these revs.
Mercutio: I tried all kinds of vacuum line options at Japshow earlier in the year, none worked TBH. The best options are to install these components in a P28 (a P72 already has them though), Remap it all out and remove the IAB plate or a quick option is to wire the IAB solenoid to VTEC.
I'll have to go and post the IAB P13 disconnecting comparison in the engine section for people to find it in a search easy.
Also got the video of the first run (203.7bhp) uploaded:
And a couple of snaps:

Pushki: Cheers, yeah she does sound pretty good on the rollers. I thought she's been sounding louder/raspier at lower revs recently, but thinking that's down to running on the P28 without IAB's. The P13 on the way back seemed a little more reserved.
Lude-Dude: That's the one and yes he can do it all bud.
MaDMaXX: I had the same hope on Saturday. As long as she's been looked after and all maintenance bits are up to do date, no reason why not really. The perfectionist you are, I'm sure she's tip-top.
Still need to pull my finger out and fit some other things soon. I did manage to fit my Fidanza short shift adaptor. I must say I'm pleasantly impressed with it. It seemed ridiculously notchy when I first fitted it, but thought I'd test drive it first. Once your moving it really aint too bad.
